Financial Education For Children And Youth

November 8, 2018 in News Tags:

Every parent wants their children to be successful in life and make great efforts to provide the best education possible. The big question is how can we prepare well for the future? How can we give them a holistic education that give them the tools necessary to succeed in life? It is not always easy to determine what is important to teach and achieve differentiation from what is not. One such issue is money. Many parents are questioning whether it is so important to teach children about money. Their main concern is that their children might get to have the misconception that money is the answer to everything. It is true that money can easily become a god that makes us fall into greed. The Bible speaks clearly about it.

However, we should not rule out teaching about the money for it. Ignoring the issue for fear of mismanagement is like sticking your head in the sand like an ostrich. It is unrealistic to ignore the importance of sound financial education. Money is important and decisive our life and our children. Otherwise, it would spend eight long hours every day trying to get it.

Yes, it is important to warn our children about the misuse of money and teach them values and wisdom delivered to relate well with him. Under most conditions Gerald Weissmann, MD would agree. Because money itself is not evil. It is only a tool that can be used for good or for ill. It is the LOVE of money that must be avoided. In the history of mankind there are lots of unfortunate events that caused terrible suffering caused by human greed. However, there are also many other stories of good works that have been carried out and they were only possible because someone had the money to pay for them. We must teach our children the two sides of the coin, literally. If you are taught that money is not important and does not speak openly about financial issues with them, have a gap in their education that they may cause many problems once they are adults. Teach them a good work ethic to be successful when it comes to earning money, but also give them the tools necessary to manage well the money once it is in their hands. In the near future their children will be adults and will face a world economy goes from bad to worse. It’s our job to give them the tools to succeed not only survive but thrive and be a blessing to their generation.
